CODE OF CONDUCT

Summary

Akron LANFest is proud to be the Northeast Ohio chapter of the national LANFest organization. Our success as a community-focused, gaming-first event series is built on trusted relationships—with each other, our attendees, sponsors, volunteers, partners, and the broader community.

We strive to create inclusive, engaging, and fun environments through gaming. That means we’re committed to consistent standards of behavior, communication, and integrity. This Code of Conduct outlines those expectations so everyone knows what it means to represent and participate in Akron LANFest.

ABOUT & MISSION

At Akron LANFest, we’re building more than just events – we’re building community. As the Northeast Ohio chapter of the national nonprofit, LANFest, we bring gamers together through monthly in-person LAN parties that focus on connection, inclusion, and real-world impact.

Our mission goes beyond the screen. We create a welcoming space where people of all ages, backgrounds, and skill levels can compete, collaborate, and grow while also giving back to local causes, supporting mental wellness, and lifting up the voices that make our gaming culture stronger.

From casual players to competitive pros, volunteers to first-time attendees, everyone plays a part in what we’re building. Because when the community wins, we all level up.

  • Having fun is essential to mental, emotional, and social health.

  • Safe, inclusive spaces are necessary for real connection.

  • Healthy communities can do powerful good in the world.

  • Passion for Gaming:

We’re gamers at heart—and that passion should shine! Whether you love casual co-op or competitive play, we welcome all gamers. Bring your joy and your love for the LANFest community into everything you do.

  • Community:

We are intentionally inclusive. We actively seek out diverse voices and make space for everyone to feel welcome and safe—online, at events, and in our culture.
